Job summary

Maersk Logistics & Services USA, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to plan, develop, and coordinate safety across facilities, creating a safe workplace and minimizing losses.

You will monitor safety programs, conduct audits, investigations, and training; administer PIT certification and hazardous materials programs; and prepare safety metric reports. This full-time, on-site role follows a Tue-Sat 9am–5:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state and local OSHA regulations.
• Experience with tracking incidents and injuries.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• MS Office experience required, Spanish language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track the effectiveness of Safety Programs within assigned facilities.
• Remain current with regulatory requirements and update SOPs as needed.
• Conduct accident and claim investigations and identify root causes for corrective action.
• Conduct audits and inspections to detect hazards and ensure compliance.
• Administer PIT operator certification program and ensure safe equipment operation.
• Oversee hazardous materials and environmental management programs.
• Coordinate safety training materials and communications with managers.
• Develop safety culture through training and awareness initiatives.
• Develop employee wellness programs and health education activities.
• Maintain safety documentation and OSHA recordkeeping.
• Prepare safety metric reports and share best practices.
