PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE programs and practices across the site.
  • Partner with site leadership, staff, and contractors to identify hazards, solve safety-related issues, and validate corrective actions to prevent incident recurrence.
  • Facilitate and lead incident investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective measures, and communicate outcomes to all affected stakeholders.
  • Ensure HSE-related training, audits, and inspections are completed timely, with follow-up actions tracked and resolved.
  • Drive awareness and employee engagement in health and wellness initiatives through effective communication, resources, and educational programs.
  • Evaluate and enhance HSE systems and methods for optimal safety performance and resource efficiency.
  • Promote environmental responsibility through sustainable practices that reduce energy usage, resource consumption, and environmental impact.
  • Maintain HSE documentation and records to meet all legal, regulatory, and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Manage and support HSE staff and programs including recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and procedures and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Serve as a communication link between management and employees, fostering an open and proactive safety culture.
  • Collaborate with external partners such as vendors and contractors to align with company HSE standards and practices.
  • Monitor industry trends and legislative changes to ensure organizational compliance and risk management.
  • Maintain customer service standards and respond to internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Perform other HSE-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in occupational health, safety and environmental affairs preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage the Safety team and interact with employees at all levels
  • Strong analytical, influencing and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
  • Strong time management, organization, and planning skills
  • Willingness to travel to various company locations as needed
