Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support offshore and onshore projects in Randburg, SA. You will develop and monitor HSE policies, conduct site inspections, and provide expert guidance to project teams.

A strong grasp of OHS Act and NEMA is essential, with 5+ years of HSE experience in energy or construction. You will deliver HSE training, manage documentation, and promote a proactive safety culture across operations.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HSE professional, preferably in Oil & Gas or construction.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and best practices (e.g., OHS Act, NEMA).
• Proven experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and with project teams.
• Experience with offshore HSE requirements is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage HSE management systems and plans for projects.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company standards.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend control measures.
• Investigate HSE incidents, near misses, and accidents with detailed reports and corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Advise project teams on HSE best practices and legal requirements.
• Maintain HSE documentation including risk assessments and emergency plans.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all project activities.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and clients on HSE matters.
• Monitor key HSE indicators and provide regular reports.
