Job summary

Sylvania in DeWitt, Michigan, seeks a Freshman Boys Basketball Coach to guide student athletes through development and season-long improvement. You will direct players at practices, during transportation, and at events off campus while modeling leadership and sportsmanship on and off the court.

Responsibilities include instructional coaching, collaboration with the Athletic Director and varsity staff, and adherence to program expectations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of coaching basketball.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and a High School graduate.
• Two (2) or more years coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of strength and conditioning.
• Quality communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of first aid.

Summary of Duties

The Freshman Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for maintaining a focus on the team's development and continuous improvement throughout the season, by directing student athletes at practice, during transportation, at other schools or other locations. He/she is a primary role model for coaches, staff, parents, community and students and promotes and projects leadership qualities for all student-athletes.

Reports to

Reports to the High School Athletic Director and Varsity Basketball Coach

Follows sports program as set by varsity coach
