Position: HRIS Specialist

Reports to: Deputy Director, Human Resources

Scope: The HRIS Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the organization’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS), with a focus on the JAMIS HCM system. This role involves maintaining data integrity, generating reports, and providing technical support to ensure efficient HR operations. The specialist will collaborate with the HR, IT, and Finance teams to enhance system functionality and support organizational goals.

The HRIS Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of functions, including but not limited to:

General Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the HRIS, with a primary focus on the JAMIS software.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular audits and validation processes.
  • Generate and analyze HRIS reports to support decision-making and compliance.
  • Provide technical support and training to HR staff and other system users.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and Finance teams to implement system updates, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Develop and document HRIS procedures, workflows, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to HRIS data.
  • Support payroll and benefits administration by ensuring accurate data integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information technology, business administration, or a related field, with Master’s preferred.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HRIS management or a related role.
    • Proficiency in the JAMIS software and/or experience with other HRIS platforms
  • Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
    • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
    • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Experience in international development or working with global teams.
    • Familiarity with HR software and tools.
    • Strong conceptual, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to take initiative, organize tasks, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, ensuring deadlines are met with attention to detail.
    • Skilled in building strong, trusting relationships to gain support and achieve desired outcomes.
    • Capable of managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
    • Comfortable working in an environment with international objectives.
    • Flexible and able to engage with individuals at all levels with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer Skills:
    • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • HR Certification preferred – HRIP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR
  • Working Conditions:
    • Anticipated hours worked each week: 40
    • Travel required: 0-10%
    • Domestic and International travel may be required.
    • Relocation Offered: No
  • Additional Requirements:
    • U.S. work authorization required.
THE SALARY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION IS $81,000-$101,000
