Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL seeks an HR Specialist to support back‑office operations for benefits, compensation, payroll and other people processes. The role maintains positions, org units, and employment expense allocations while serving as an entry point for HR reporting requests.

At least an associate degree and 1+ years in HRIS are needed; bachelor’s or HR certifications are a plus. Strong communication, detail‑oriented and process improvement mindset are expected.

Formación

• Experience with HRIS systems and confidentiality required.
• Knowledge of employee benefits, compensation and employment laws.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains personnel files and confidentiality of records.
• Performs routine HR transactions including onboarding, transfers, promotions, leaves, terminations.
• Collaborates with HR centers of expertise to resolve benefits, payroll and processing issues.
• Improves standard operating procedures for transaction processing.
• Answers questions on people processes and policies; advocates self-service tools.
• Conducts audits and prepares required reports (I-9, EEO-1, payroll).
• Ensures COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA compliance in benefits administration.
