Job summary

Pima County seeks a Training and Development Officer in Human Resources to design, develop and deliver engaging learning experiences for over 7,000 employees. You will lead curriculum design for onboarding, leadership development and compliance, using e-learning and instructor-led methods in a Workday LMS environment.

You will apply adult learning theory, develop SCORM-compliant courses, and coordinate with vendors while supporting performance improvement and administrative learning initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, human resources, management, training and development or closely related field.
• Two years of professional-level experience developing or evaluating lesson plans and conducting training in an adult learning environment.
• Alternatively, two years with Pima County in a Training and Education Coordinator II role.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and updates instructor-led training (ILT) courses including PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, Adobe, facilitator guides, participant guides, and job aids.
• Facilitates HR, IT and Safety training in classroom or virtual settings with interactive equipment and software.
• Plans and updates curricula for HR, organizational development, employee development and leadership training.
• Develops online courses, e-learning, micro-learning, and SCORM-compliant resources.
• Ensures curriculum accuracy, clarity, flow and balance.
• Evaluates and improves training programs; monitors trainee performance and provides support.
• Creates, schedules and tracks class attendance in the LMS.
• Coordinates training with external vendors or technical experts.
• Participates in evaluations of IT, HR or safety systems; participates in continuous improvement.
• Creates surveys and reports for client departments; assists in deployment procedures and communication.
