Job summary

North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking an HR Technician II to assist the Division HR Manager in daily HR administration for the Division of Air Quality and the Division of Water Infrastructure. The role handles recruitment postings, new hire orientation, benefits, HRIS/payroll entries, LOA processing, records maintenance, and reporting.

A hybrid telework option is available; state employment benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR or relevant field; 1 year of experience required, or 2 years progressive HR experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment life cycle: create postings, screen and refer qualified applicants in the state's job postings system.
• Administer New Hire Orientation, employee benefits, Voluntary Shared Leave, and other personnel programs.
