Job summary

Kaua'i Department of Human Resources is seeking an HR Technician I to independently perform a wide range of technical HR tasks. The role requires interpreting civil service laws, HR policies, and collective bargaining provisions to support one or more functional areas within the central HR department.

Typical duties include payroll certification audits, HR data processing, recruitment announcements, and processing personnel transactions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Three (3) years of specialized work experience.

Responsibilities

• Audits payroll certification forms for completeness, accuracy and compliance with civil service laws, rules, collective bargaining agreements, and executive orders; processes the same.
• Audits data entered into the HR computer system for processing of personnel actions; posts and processes transactions.
• May conduct on-site audits to ensure compliance with civil service laws and HR policies and procedures.
