Job summary

Vaco in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking an HR Specialist to join a collaborative, fast-paced HR team onsite near EL Segundo. This role handles employee relations, LOA/FMLA, performance management, investigations, and workers' compensation.

The position is fully onsite with hours 9-6pm onsite; a Bachelor's degree is required. Direct HR Generalist experience is preferred, with Paychex knowledge a plus. Pay ranges at $80-85k, with medical/dental/vision and 401(k) benefits, and discretionary bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Hands-on HR Generalist or comparable HR experience.
• Direct experience with employee relations, FMLA/LOA, workers' comp, performance management, and investigations.
• Working knowledge of HR compliance and employment practices.
• HRIS experience; Paychex is a plus.

A growing client is urgently looking for an HR Specialist to join a collaborative, fast-paced HR team. This role is ideal for someone with strong foundational HR knowledge and direct experience handling employee relations, leave administration, performance management, workplace investigations, and workers' compensation.

This role is fully onsite near EL Segundo area - no relocation offered

Hours: 9-6pm onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Manage employee relations issues and provide day-to-day HR support
• Administer FMLA and other leaves of absence
• Support performance management, corrective actions, and workplace investigations
• Coordinate workers' compensation and benefits matters
• Maintain HRIS records and employee documentation
• Support HR compliance, onboarding, offboarding, and recruiting
• Partner with payroll and benefits teams as needed
• Manage multiple priorities and pivot quickly in a fast-moving environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Hands-on HR Generalist or comparable HR experience
• Direct experience with employee relations, FMLA/LOA, workers' comp, performance management, and investigations
• Working knowledge of HR compliance and employment practices
• HRIS experience; Paychex is a plus
• Strong communication, judgment, and organizational skills
• Proactive, adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working independently
• Ability to provide specific examples of handling real-world HR situations

Pay: $80-85,000 direct hire
