Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles seeks a hands-on Human Resources Service Operations Lead to streamline HR functions, coach a service team, and drive onboarding, offboarding and HRIS initiatives. The role reports to the HR leadership and requires strong project management and communication skills.

You will coordinate with Payroll on termination pay and supervise the day-to-day HR service operations, ensuring accurate records and timely responses to employee inquiries.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Experience leading HR teams and projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or related work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor the HR Service Team, providing day-to-day guidance.
• Oversee onboarding of new hires, orientation, and offboarding of exiting employees.
• Analyze HR metrics and drive process improvements in onboarding/offboarding.
• Coordinate with Payroll to resolve pay-related issues as needed.
• Handle HR inquiries and triage to Compliance, Employee Relations, Recruiting or Classification & Benefits as needed.
• Maintain and audit personnel files (hard copy and electronic).
