Job summary

TruStage is seeking an experienced HR/Benefits Administrator to provide comprehensive HR services for active, retired, and separated employees in a centralized service center in Iowa. You will own benefits administration, payroll coordination, and data integrity across HR systems.

The role requires 4–6 years in HR/Benefits/Payroll with call center experience, strong customer service skills, and a proven track record as a lead worker who mentors others. Resume is required to apply.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years progressive HR/Benefits/Payroll administration with call center experience.
  • Proven experience as a lead worker, providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Proficiency with Excel, word processing, attendance systems, web tools and benefits/payroll software.
  • Strong customer service and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality HR service to active, retired, and separated TruStage employees and other customers.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees and customers in a centralized integrated employee service center.
  • Support Health & Welfare benefits, annual enrollment, employee status changes, leave administration, and carrier/vendor coordination.
  • Support 401(k) plan administration and general pension plans.
  • Coordinate bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing, payroll tax filings, W-4 and direct deposit updates, and W-2 production.
  • Administer the Learning Management System through content creation, updates, and archiving.
  • Maintain HR Employee Portal content and support employees in the HRIS.
  • Provide periodic management and professional support staff reports.
  • Identify, collaborate on, and develop solutions for process improvements.
  • Assist employees by phone, email, chat, or in person with HR policies, benefits, payroll, sales incentives, HRIS, and LMS.
  • Research, isolate, and resolve complex inquiries.
  • Support annual benefits enrollment, talent management, employee/labor relations, and compensation processes.
  • Maintain employee data integrity through employment, benefits, payroll, and incentive transactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent trade-off in related professional work experience
  • 4-6 years progressive work experience in HR/Benefit (core Health and Welfare)/Payroll administration with call center/customer service experience
  • Proven experience as a lead worker, providing coaching, mentoring and feedback to others
  • Knowledge of core office automation software, including Excel, word processing, attendance system, web tools, and benefits/payroll system software
  • Demonstrated effective customer service relationship skills
  • Ability to express ideas, recommendations, and decisions verbally and in writing
  • Skills in gathering pertinent data and identifying key issues or problems to make appropriate and timely decisions
  • Attention to detail, effective organization, planning, and time management skills
