Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field.
  • 2 years in HR or administrative work preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee work injuries, vehicle and equipment accidents with reporting and investigations.
  • Maintain documentation of safety procedures and incidents.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce injuries and improve safety.
  • Serve as liaison between management, employees and vendors such as insurers.
  • Coordinate OSH Committee meetings and safety awards.
  • Administer leaves of absence including documentation, timelines, benefits coordination, status updates and return to work.
  • Communicate leave procedures to employees and coordinate with HR, benefits, payroll and providers.
  • Maintain LOA records and monitor status for payroll alignment.
  • Provide general HR support and other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field.
  • Preferred, but not required, 2 years in human resources or relevant work in an administrative capacity.
Summary

The HR Risk & Leave Administrator is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of personnel and property in the workplace. Responsible for the day-to-day administrative functions of the Risk & Safety department, providing the highest level of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates employee work injuries, vehicle accidents, and company equipment accidents, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, and supports management in accident/incident investigations and identifies possible causes.
  • Maintains documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents, and related events.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems and provides recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
  • Acts as a liaison between management, employees, and external vendors, such as insurance companies.
  • Coordinates and hosts OSH Committee meetings and administers safety awards (if any).
  • Coordinates the day-to-day administration and tracking of employees' leaves of absence, including required documentation, timelines, benefits coordination, status updates, and the return to work process.
  • Interactively communicates with employees and supervisors regarding leave procedures, timelines, and partners with HR leaders, benefits, payroll, and medical providers as needed to support timely and compliant leave administration.
  • Maintains accurate, timely, confidential LOA records and monitors leave status to ensure employee status and payroll status are reflective of the LOA.
3. General HR Support
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the HR department.
Technical Skills
  • Good systems skills and familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable providing exceptional customer service; maintains the strictest confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail, compliance, organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
