Job summary

Counseling Speaks is seeking an HR & Practice Support role to manage HR and administrative tasks for a private mental health practice. The candidate will work closely with the practice owner, handling onboarding, offboarding, licensing documentation, and Gusto payroll management to keep staff and contractors compliant and organized.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on HR experience in mental health settings, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently to optimize Gusto

Qualifications

• HR experience in private mental health or healthcare practices
• Experience onboarding/offboarding therapists and clinical staff
• Understanding hiring process for practice integration
• Experience onboarding employees/contractors
• Familiarity with therapist licensing and documentation requirements
• Experience with Illinois and/or multi-state licensure
• Maintain employee and contractor files and docs
• Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance
• Strong Gusto experience: onboarding, payroll, management, time tracking, benefits
• Ability to optimize Gusto use for practice owner
• Experience with offboarding steps
• Track licenses, renewals, deadlines

Responsibilities

• Support HR and administrative operations for a private practice
• Collaborate with practice owner to manage onboarding and offboarding
• Ensure licensing and documentation compliance for therapists
• Maintain employee and contractor files and HR records
• Manage time tracking, payroll, benefits setup in Gusto
• Assist during hiring and onboarding of clinical staff
• Ensure HR policies and procedures are followed
