Job summary

Strada is seeking an HR & Payroll Specialist with German to join our team in a remote, international role. You will process Austrian payroll end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and compliance while handling tickets and supporting change requests.

English and German proficiency are required, with strong knowledge of payroll interfaces and MS Office tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain confidentiality, and stay current on legislation.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years experience administering payroll in HR outsourcing, consulting, or corporate environments.
• Very good English and German skills (B2 minimum).
• Strong knowledge of inputs/outputs interfacing with payroll (timekeeping, tax, benefits).
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Process Austrian payroll from end to end according to defined standards and client requirements.
• Manage ticket queues and ensure timely handling of requests.
• Identify deviations and support change requests while maintaining data confidentiality.
• Respond to German payroll questions and transfer knowledge to peers.
• Support system maintenance testing and issue resolution.
• Keep up with legislation and payroll procedures; participate in projects.

HR & Payroll Specialist with German
HR & Payroll Specialist performs all life-cycle payroll transactions and activities to ensure the processing of an accurate and timely payroll. Displays decision-making skills that support company and payroll policies.

Key responsibilities:

• Independently process Austrian payroll from end to end according the defined standards and client requirements including all associated payroll tasks
• Monitor and manage ticket queues using the appropriate tools to ensure tickets are handled per the defined timelines and do not exceed expected thresholds
• Identify deviations from the standard scope of service and act accordingly including the identification and support of change request opportunities
• Recognize and deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information
• Produce and understand standard and client specific payroll reports including statutory year end reporting needs
• Review and validate data for accuracy and completeness and initiates corrections per the defined standards
• Answer German payroll related questions and requests
• Provide clear knowledge transfers to peers
• Support and manage system maintenance testing
• Support technical issue coordination and resolution
• Maintains current knowledge of legislation requirements; system updates, changes and overall payroll procedures
• Participates in projects and activities as needed and assigned

Requirements:

• Around 2-3 years relevant experience administering Payroll in an HR consulting, HR Outsourcing or Corporate environment
• Very good English and German skills (B2 minimum)
• Strong knowledge of the various inputs and outputs such as third party interfaces, timekeeping, tax filing/compliance, benefits and other key areas that integrate with payroll
• Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to identify and mitigate risks
• Flexibility to support a global and fast paced environment

• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Self-motivated and a willingness to learn
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, as well as independently while adhering to processes and procedures
