Job summary

Owenvalleyhcr is seeking an HR / Payroll professional to lead the human resources department in accordance with federal, state and local standards. The role focuses on directing payroll, interviewing and training staff, and maintaining compliant personnel records.

The position requires knowledge of nursing facility HR regulations, ability to coordinate interviews, ensure confidentiality, and manage employee relations. This on-site role involves supporting facility staffing and payroll processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration preferred, but not required.
• Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines concerning personnel administration in nursing care facilities.
• Payroll experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the HR department.
• Process personnel payroll bi weekly.
• Review requests for new or replacement personnel and arrange interviews.
• Check applications and references and schedule interviews as needed.
• Maintain personnel record filing system in compliance with employment practices.
• Ensure hiring/discharge procedures comply with procedures and policies.
• Conduct employee background checks according to established procedures.
• Orient new personnel to facility policies, payroll, safety, and procedures.
• Counsel/discipline personnel as necessary.
• Conduct exit interviews and record data in personnel records.
• Maintain good employee relations program for facility and community.
• Schedule annual training (OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance).
• Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
• Provide residents’ rights information to new hires.
• Report any incidents of unauthorized disclosure of confidential information.
• Ensure rights to fair and equitable treatment are maintained.
