  • Follow state-specific pay rules for final pay timing, overtime, tip credits, and paid leave.
Unemployment & State Compliance
  • Keep state unemployment insurance (SUI) rates updated in the payroll system as new rate notices come in.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and requests for information by the deadline; represent the company at hearings when needed.
  • Track state and local law changes (minimum wage, paid sick leave, required postings) and flag what affects our properties.
  • Monitor Tax Filings and Reports
  • Maintain required federal and state labor law postings across properties.
HR Generalist Support
  • Serve as backup for corporate HR, covering employee relations questions, policy guidance, and documentation.
  • Coach property GMs and managers on attendance, performance, corrective action, and handbook policies.
  • Assist with workplace investigations and keep clear, confidential records.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding, including I-9 and E-Verify compliance, new hire paperwork, and exit processes.
  • Keep HRIS and personnel files accurate and audit-ready.
  • Help administer leaves of absence (FMLA, state leave, and ADA accommodation requests).
  • Coordinate workers' compensation reporting with the Director of Risk Management.
  • Support recruiting at the properties, including job postings, screening, and offer letters.
  • Pull HR reports such as headcount, turnover, and benefits enrollment.

  • Experience with an HRIS/payroll platform and strong Excel skills.
  • Sound judgment with confidential information.
  • Clear, friendly communication with team members at every level, from line staff to executives.
Preferred
  • HR knowledge across multiple states (for example, Colorado, California).
