Job summary

Riveer is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to oversee and manage the company's HR functions. You will manage day-to-day HR operations, support employees and leadership, ensure compliance with employment laws, and continually improve HR processes.

You will partner with department leaders, handle performance and employee relations, administer benefits, payroll support, and maintain HR documentation while driving engagement and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HR experience including recruitment and compliance.
• Knowledge of federal and Michigan employment laws.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment: postings, screening, interviews, offers, onboarding.
• Partner with managers on staffing needs and workforce planning.
• Advise on HR policies, procedures and employment-related matters.
• Support performance, attendance, conduct, and workplace concerns.
• Lead employee relations discussions, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
• Coordinate performance reviews and development activities.
• Support employee engagement initiatives.
• Administer benefits programs and communications.
• Maintain personnel records, HRIS data, and HR documentation.
• Support payroll, timekeeping, and related reporting.
• Coordinate leave administration and documentation.
• Manage onboarding, changes, and separations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
• Maintain/update handbooks and HR policies.
• Coordinate ACA, EEO, and safety reporting.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update policies as needed.
• Support workplace safety initiatives and compliance.
• Develop HR metrics and reports for decision-making.
• Support organizational changes and continuous improvement.
