Job summary

A-1 Little John Site Services is seeking a skilled HR Manager to lead Paycor payroll, benefits, and HRIS operations. The role partners with department managers to maintain compliant timekeeping, performance, and termination processes while managing DOT credentialing needs and workers’ compensation programs.

The role also serves as an executive administrative support point, ensuring accurate documentation and audit-ready files across the employee lifecycle with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of progressive HR operations experience with significant hands-on responsibility for HRIS and benefits administration.
• Experience administering Paycor (or similar HRIS/payroll platforms), including troubleshooting, audits, and end-user support.
• Experience with benefits operations, including life events, carrier feeds, reconciliation, and vendor management.
• Experience owning payroll processing and compliance, including deductions, reconciliations, and pay-impacting transactions.
• Experience developing and enforcing timekeeping and approval processes with department managers.
• Experience administering workers' compensation programs, including claims coordination and compliance documentation.
• Experience coordinating background checks, drug testing, and DOT-required screening with a third-party administrator such as partner services.
• Exceptional attention to documentation, accuracy, and deadlines.
• Exceptional communication, employee development and culture building communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own Paycor administration, payroll processing, and benefits administration across the company.
• Partner with department managers to enforce time tracking, PTO, and approval practices.
• Coordinate termination processes end-to-end across internal partners and platforms.
• Collaborate to maximize Paycor ATS, HR, Talent Development and LMS systems.
• Maintain HR documentation on employees and terminations.
• Oversee DOT screening and credentialing with partner services.
• Own workforce administration and workers' compensation processes.
• Develop HR dashboards and reports for headcount, attrition, and benefits participation.
• Design and maintain HR procedures and policy documentation.
