Job summary

BetterUp is hiring an HR Operations & AI Enablement Manager to reimagine HR Operations. You will own the operational backbone, automate processes with AI, and lead a 3–5 person team, coordinating with Legal, Payroll, IT, Recruiting, and Total Rewards.

You’ll drive end-to-end HR workflows, ensure compliance, and build data-driven insights while partnering with Workday and AI engineers to scale impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in HR operations or related leadership, with scale of processes and compliance.
• Hands-on experience using AI and automation to improve HR operations, with measurable impact.
• Experience administering or managing benefits with compliance knowledge.
• Direct experience with Workday and connecting it to other systems.
• End-to-end HR operations experience solving cross-functional problems.
• Experience managing a team and building a high-performance culture across jurisdictions.
• Data-driven mindset with HR reporting and analytics expertise.

Responsibilities

• AI & automation enablement: identify manual work and fix it with lightweight tools or scope for AI automation.
• Redesign HR workflows end-to-end with automation for onboarding and offboarding.
• Pilot and evaluate emerging AI tools relevant to HR Ops and build a case for scaling.
• Define and report impact: hours saved, cycle time reduced, errors prevented, employee experience improved.
• Partner with AI Automation Engineer for any custom code needs and coach the team to adopt AI tools.
• Establish governance and best practices for responsible AI use in HR Ops, including data privacy.
