Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a Transaction Specialist to support back-office HR processes within the Employee Service Center. The role handles routine employee transactions and ensures accurate processing of benefits, compensation, payroll, and related HR activities.

The position administers the organizational structure, provides HR reporting, and serves as a front-door for ESS/MSS inquiries.

Qualifications

Associate degree required; high school diploma with 2+ years experience accepted in lieu of degree.
1+ years of hands‑on HRIS experience; Infor/Lawson asset.

Responsibilities

Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files, records, and documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
Performs routine administrative tasks related to employee transactions and transitions including onboarding, transfers, promotions, life events, leaves, terminations, and special programs.
Collaborates with people process centers of expertise to research and resolve benefits, compensation, payroll and other processing issues.
Promotes self-service by coaching on ESS/MSS usage on the employee service portal and core HR system.
Conducts record audits and prepares/files mandatory reports (I-9, EEO-1, payroll audits).
