Job summary

GHJ Search and Staffing, the recruitment division of GHJ, is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support the HR team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in Los Angeles, CA. This role covers recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations to ensure a seamless employee experience.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of HR experience, an associate or bachelor's degree, and knowledge of HRIS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years HR experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
• Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office; ADP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and HRIS data.
• Support recruiting and onboarding, including job postings, interview scheduling, background checks, offer letters, and new hire orientation.
• Assist with payroll, benefits, leave administration, and performance review documentation.
• Coordinate HR meetings, training sessions, and employee communications.
• Track compliance training, acknowledgments, and required employment documentation.
• Support I‑9 and E‑Verify processes.
• Edit and maintain HR policies, procedures, forms, and internal resources.
• Assist with special projects and other HR initiatives as needed.
