Job summary

Custer Public Power District is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead the district's HR functions from the Broken Bow office. This full-time role covers employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, labor relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee development, policy administration, and employment law compliance.

The successful candidate will support management and staff as a confidential resource on personnel matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible Human Resources experience.
• Experience in employee relations, benefits, compliance, recruiting, and performance management.
• Labor relations, collective bargaining, public power, electric utility, or public sector experience preferred.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR or similar professional certifications preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Nebraska driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• The successful candidate must maintain a permanent residence within 30 minutes of Custer Public Power District’s headquarters located in Broken Bow.

Responsibilities

• Lead and administer the District’s Human Resources functions, including employee relations and onboarding.
• Oversee labor relations, compensation and benefits, and performance management.
• Provide guidance and support to management and employees on personnel matters.
• Ensure employment law compliance and policy administration.
