Job summary

Washington County seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR functions for about 600 employees in West Bend, Wisconsin. This onsite role reports to the Director of Finance and Employee Experience and collaborates with two HR Generalists and an HR Representative.

The position covers recruitment, employee relations, benefits, labor support, training, safety, and performance management, ensuring a proactive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, benefits, leave management, and HR best practices.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license.

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention across County departments.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
