Job summary

Bell & Associates, Inc. seeks an experienced HR leader to manage core HR processes end-to-end across Indianapolis and Cleveland. You will drive recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations while partnering with executives to align workforce planning with business goals.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in HR, strong HRIS and payroll oversight, and experience mentoring HR staff in a multi-location setting. A background in manufacturing or EOS is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field; certification a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience (recruiting, onboarding, benefits, ER).
  • Experience leading HR across multiple locations.
  • Experience mentoring HR staff.
  • Familiarity with EOS environment.
  • Strong HRIS knowledge and payroll oversight.

Job description

  • Own the HR core process end-to-end across both Indianapolis, IN and Cleveland, OH locations, partnering with department leaders and the Executive Team on workforce planning, seat clarity, and hiring approvals.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting: sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates, and building interview teams with hiring managers to evaluate Core Values alignment and GWC (Get It, Want It, Capacity).
  • Review interview feedback, scorecards, and references with hiring managers to guide final hiring decisions.
  • Own new hire onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, employment documents, HRIS setup, benefits enrollment materials, and first-day preparation.
  • Partner with hiring managers on company and role onboarding, and conduct early check-ins (second week and 30-day mark), including administering the New Hire Survey.
  • Support benefits enrollment and administration, including PTO, leaves of absence, and accommodations, communicated and tracked through the HRIS.
  • Build and manage team member training program
  • Oversee payroll accuracy and compliance in partnership with Finance & Admin and the payroll provider (does not process payroll directly).
  • Maintain personnel records, employment documentation, and compensation records in the HRIS and/or secured HR files.
  • Maintain and communicate the employee handbook, HR policies, and procedures, and support compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Guide department leaders on employee relations matters, documentation, corrective action, and terminations, ensuring HR is involved before commitments are made.
  • Process employee changes (promotions, transfers, compensation, and reporting changes) and manage separations, including final pay, benefits communication, and systems access coordination.
  • Lead continuous improvement of HR forms, templates, and department procedures to build repeatable systems that scale with company growth.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR certification a plus.
  • Five or more years of progressive HR experience, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Experience leading HR across multiple locations preferred.
  • Experience managing or mentoring HR staff.
  • Experience working within an EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms, benefits administration systems, and payroll oversight.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, including multi-state compliance (Ohio and Indiana).
  • Experience in manufacturing or a similar industry a plus.
