Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager oversees all HR functions at the Latrobe facility, leading a team of two. This role aligns HR strategies with business goals, partnering closely with the Plant Manager and operations teams to foster a positive, high-performing environment. The HR Manager reports to the CHRO and supports projects to align local initiatives with company-wide programs.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Develop and evaluate the employee relations program.
  2. Translate business plans into HR strategies and communicate them effectively.
  3. Coach leaders on HR matters such as discipline, LOA, and attendance.
  4. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, communicating updates to the team.
  5. Identify opportunities for HR team development.
  6. Collaborate on staffing, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
  7. Coordinate with the Training Manager on employee development and safety trainings.
  8. Analyze turnover, absenteeism, and staffing metrics.
  9. Implement retention strategies with facility leadership.
  10. Address employee issues and conflicts.
  11. Assist with staffing levels in coordination with operations managers.
  12. Act as a change agent to promote high performance.
  13. Set and monitor performance goals with managers and supervisors.
  14. Lead open enrollment and employee communication initiatives.
  15. Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance.
  16. Support succession planning for key roles.
  17. Manage labor relations and ensure legal compliance.
  18. Represent the company at personnel hearings.
  19. Engage with employees across sites to provide support.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  2. Professional certifications preferred.
  3. At least 7 years of HR leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  4. Strong generalist background and experience with labor unions.
  5. Knowledge of employment laws and HR metrics.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and HR systems.
  8. Willing to commute between sites and attend off-site events.
  9. Flexible schedule to support a 24/7 workforce.
