Job summary

Our client in Kalamazoo, MI, a growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their leadership team. This role combines strategic partnership with hands-on HR operations to support culture, engagement, and workforce planning.

The HR Manager will partner with leaders to drive talent development, ensure compliance with employment laws, oversee payroll and benefits, and lead programs that improve employee relations and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to influence leaders and drive positive organizational change.
• Professional HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full spectrum of human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs that support organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and labor regulations.
• Partner with leadership teams to drive employee engagement initiatives and support organizational growth.
• Oversee payroll administration, employee benefits programs, and HR reporting metrics.
• Manage employee concerns, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes with professionalism and consistency.
• Design and lead training and development initiatives to strengthen employee skills and career advancement opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on all human resources matters.
