Job description

Wiley|Wilson is seeking an experienced, people-centered Human Resources Manager to lead and evolve our HR function as the firm continues to grow. We are a 100% employee-owned architecture-engineering firm with more than 190 employees across five offices, and this role plays a key part in supporting both our people and our culture.

This is a hands-on HR leadership role for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with day-to-day engagement. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the HR Manager oversees all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, compliance, training, and organizational development. The role also leads and develops the HR team and serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on workforce planning and people strategy.

While the position offers some flexibility to work from home, it is primarily office-based to support collaboration, visibility, and connection across the firm.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement HR strategies that support the firm’s business objectives, culture, and long-term growth. Partner closely with executive leadership to advance initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.

Talent & Leadership Development

Oversee recruiting and talent development efforts across the firm, including intern and early-career programs. Guide onboarding, succession planning, leadership development, and training initiatives that support career growth at all levels.

Employee Relations & Culture

Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace. Serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees, supporting employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and day-to-day people challenges.

Compensation, Benefits & ESOP

Ensure compensation and benefits programs remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with firm goals. Oversee benefits administration and ESOP compliance, balancing employee experience with long-term sustainability.

Compliance & HR Operations

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update HR policies and procedures, and oversee payroll, leaves of absence, HR systems, reporting, and analytics to support informed decision-making.

HR Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, setting priorities and supporting professional growth while ensuring the function scales effectively with the firm.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or HR certification preferred
  • 10+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support multi-state operations and initiatives
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to obtain a security clearance
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Proven success leading organizational effectiveness initiatives in a growing or multi-state organization
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and systems while maintaining a people-first approach
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
