Reporting to the VP of HR, you’ll lead day-to-day HR operations, support both field crews and office staff, and help shape the kind of workplace where great people want to stay, grow, and thrive. If you’re passionate about making a difference in the construction industry, committed to employee success, and experienced across all facets of HR, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead hiring and onboarding efforts for field and office roles, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection, job offers, pre-employment screenings and background checks, and orientation sessions.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and time off plans, facilitating ongoing communications, assisting employees with questions, and processing enrollments, changes, and invoices.
  • Leave & Injury Coordination: Provide employees with clear, caring support throughout leave, disability, and injury management processes, ensuring a smooth and informed experience.
  • HR Operations: Maintain accurate, timely, and organized employee records, including weekly payroll changes and personnel files, using HRIS and other internal systems.
  • Employee Relations & Performance Management: Address employee concerns and workplace performance issues with professionalism and fairness, while supporting performance review and goal setting processes.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate employee learning and development initiatives, including onboarding, safety training, technical skills, professional growth, and leadership development programs to support career progression and organizational goals.
  • Compliance & Policy: Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and internal HR policies through consistent practices, documentation, and timely reporting to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Event Planning: Organize employee engagement events, company celebrations, and team-building activities to support a positive workplace culture.
  • Office Oversight & Team Supervision: Provide day-to-day oversight of office functions and supervise the Office Manager/Receptionist, ensuring smooth coordination of facilities, supplies, vendor relationships, and front desk operations to maintain an efficient and professional workplace.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong decision-making, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills interacting with all levels of internal staff, vendors, and other business partners.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when needed.
