KenCCID is an established Philadelphia leader providing residential supports to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. We are looking for a self-starter to lead our Human Resources functions, including recruiting, employee relations, and benefits management.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has excellent leadership, time management, organizational, and communication skills, pays close attention to detail, and has a thorough understanding of federal labor laws and their workplace application. Experience in navigating Pennsylvania's regulatory landscape is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with laws such as Title VII, ADEA, NLRA, ADA, FMLA, and others.
- Handle employee complaints and protected activities, conduct internal investigations, and develop internal metrics.
- Drive workforce culture through messaging, policy development, enforcement, and employee recognition programs.
- Respond to unemployment claims and advocate at hearings.
- Manage talent, including developing compensation programs, job descriptions, and performance management systems.
- Apply consistent policies and discipline, support front-line supervisors, and manage disciplinary documentation.
- Support a unionized workforce (a plus).
- Navigate cultural norms and communication styles within a diverse employee base.
- Develop or implement DEI initiatives (a plus).
- Lead and develop the HR team through supervision, coaching, and guidance.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an HR Generalist or in a senior HR role, with at least 2 years in labor law compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of applicable employment laws and excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ADP, and ability to learn new software, including Electronic Health Records and payroll systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, with public speaking skills for training.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and research ability.
- This is an in-person position based in northeast Philadelphia, requiring commuting to other sites as needed.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Sitting at a desk for up to 8 hours, reading screens, data entry, and speaking clearly.
- Handling stressful situations and conflict negotiation.
- Driving and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment and interact with individuals with disabilities.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, and paid time off.
