Job summary

The Port of Long Beach seeks a Manager of Human Resources – Learning & Organizational Development to lead Port U, the in‑house enterprise learning initiative. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in HR, Organizational Development, Education, or related field.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible full‑time experience in learning and development, adult learning, instructional design, or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience managing learning programs, projects, or staff.
• Demonstrated experience implementing learning programs for adult learners.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design practices.
• Experience partnering with leaders and subject‑matter experts to implement programs.
• Strong project management, facilitation, written communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Port U’s learning framework, priorities, and model.
• Develop curricula, learning pathways, and employee development experiences.
• Coordinate planning, delivering, scheduling, and evaluating learning programs.
• Manage internal and external learning partners and resources.
• Evaluate content, delivery methods, and learning impact; report outcomes.
