Job summary

Modern Woodmen of America invites you to join our Human Resources Intern program in Rock Island, IL. This 11-week, full‑time internship offers a hands‑on experience across talent acquisition, onboarding, learning and development, and HR operations, with mentorship and exposure to initiatives supporting employees and leadership.

Responsibilities include recruiting support, onboarding, process improvements, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business management, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, and applicant tracking.
• Support onboarding and orientation activities for new employees.
• Collaborate with HR team members on process improvement initiatives and special projects.
• Gain exposure to a variety of HR disciplines through meetings, events, and cross‑functional partnerships.
• Conduct research on HR trends and best practices.
