Job summary

Modern Woodmen of America in Rock Island, IL seeks a Human Resources Intern to gain hands-on experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, learning and development, and HR operations.

This 11-week, full-time internship offers professional mentorship, meaningful projects, and exposure to a broad range of HR disciplines through meetings, events, and cross-functional partnerships; on-site work is required, with some remote days may be limited.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources management, business management, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, and applicant tracking.
• Support onboarding and orientation activities for new employees.
• Collaborate with HR team members on process improvement initiatives and special projects.
• Gain exposure to a variety of HR disciplines through meetings, events, and cross-functional partnerships.
• Conduct research on HR trends and best practices.
