Job summary

Delta Dental of Iowa is offering a Summer 2027 Human Resources Internship in Johnston, IA. You will assist with intern program coordination, talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation and benefits, training, development, and compliance. The role provides hands-on experience supporting leaders and employees while maintaining confidentiality.

The internship runs May 19, 2027, with hours Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., at our Johnston location.

Qualifications

Undergraduate student pursuing a related degree and eligible to participate in a summer internship.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Teams, Forms and PowerPoint.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

Assist with internship program coordination by planning events and communicating with interns.
Facilitate weekly intern huddles with prepared agendas and topics.
Draft advertisements and support talent acquisition activities and social posts.
Support onboarding and orientation activities for new employees.
Create training materials for compensation and benefits and update equity records.
Help plan employee engagement events and participate in development sessions.
Research HR best practices and support internal audits and documentation.
