Job summary

Delta Dental of Iowa’s Human Resources internship for Summer 2027 offers hands-on experience supporting leaders and employees, with exposure to intern program coordination, talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation and benefits, training, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (verified through transcript).
• Current enrollment in a college or university.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Teams, Forms, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Self-motivated with ability to learn and work independently.
• Participants will submit a written analysis of project work and present it to leadership at program end.

Responsibilities

• Assist with internship program coordination by planning, organizing and executing events and programs.
• Prepare and facilitate weekly intern huddles with agendas and communications.
• Learn talent acquisition by drafting advertisements and coordinating with Marketing for social posts.
• Support onboarding by preparing materials and coordinating orientation activities.
• Update internal equity spreadsheets and training materials related to compensation and benefits.
• Help plan and facilitate employee engagement events and company-wide activities.
• Assist with development sessions and HR best-practice research.
