Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is seeking an HR Intern to support the Human Resources team in Lynchburg, VA. This role provides hands-on exposure to onboarding, recruiting coordination, and HR operations in a professional setting.

You will assist with scheduling interviews, maintaining confidential employee records, tracking HR metrics, and supporting engagement activities while pursuing an undergraduate degree in HR, Business, or related field. Must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student pursuing HR, business, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain DOE security clearance.
• Onsite in Lynchburg, VA.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating recruiting activities, including scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
• Support onboarding processes such as preparing new hire packets, conducting orientation check-ins, and updating employee files.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
• Help track HR metrics and prepare reports as needed.
• Participate in employee engagement activities and events.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team (filing, organizing, data entry, document updates).
• Help with special projects such as policy reviews, process improvement, and training coordination.
