Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is seeking an HR intern in Savanna, IL to connect classroom learning with hands-on support for employees and managers in a manufacturing setting. The 10-week program runs full-time on-site, starting May 25, 2027, with potential extension; pay is $26 per hour.

You'll work with HR professionals, tackle projects such as onboarding resources, recruiting processes, or employee communications, and present findings to leadership at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in HR, business administration, organizational development, psychology, industrial or organizational psychology, communications, or closely related field.
• Interest in supporting employees and improving how people experience work.
• A thoughtful approach to solving problems and checking your work.
• Willingness to ask questions, learn from feedback, and work with people in different roles.
• Ability to organize information and explain your reasoning clearly.
• Availability for a full-time, on-site summer internship with limited start-date flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Learn the HR processes, systems, and employee needs relevant to your assignment.
• Gather and organize information, check its accuracy, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Help prepare clear employee or manager resources for review by the HR team.
• Support coordination of recruiting, onboarding, learning, or engagement activities.
• Use spreadsheets or other tools to analyze information and communicate findings.
• Listen respectfully to employees and work with the HR team to direct questions to the right person.
• Protect confidential information and use only the records needed for your assigned work.
• Document progress, follow through on commitments, and ask for guidance when needed.
• Follow facility safety requirements and present your project results and recommendations.
