Job summary

Lithium Americas Corp. in Reno, NV offers a hands-on HR internship designed to support the Human Resources Team with day-to-day operations and special projects.

You will gain exposure to recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and compliance while working on meaningful initiatives that enhance the workplace. This 10-week summer program provides practical experience, collaboration with the HR group, and exposure to payroll, compensation, benefits, and Total Rewards

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong interest in human resources and a desire to gain hands-on HR experience.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is a plus but not required.
• Personal commitment to Lithium Americas’ Purpose, Vision, and Values.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment stages: resume review, candidate screening, reference checks, interview coordination, and onboarding materials.
• Assist with onboarding materials and new hire paperwork.
• Maintain employee records and audit HR files.
• Prepare presentations, training materials, and HR reports.
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives and events.
• Participate in HR team meetings and cross-functional discussions.
• Gain exposure to payroll, compensation, benefits, and Total Rewards through shadowing and project participation.
