Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Beaumont is offering a Human Resources Intern position designed to provide hands-on experience in HR operations while you continue your education. This paid internship features a flexible schedule, a supportive team, and exposure to HR generalist tasks across districts.

You will assist with data entry, recruiting support, onboarding/offboarding, and maintenance of confidential records, gaining insight into state government HR practices and workflows.

Qualifications

• Must be a student in high school or other educational institution.
• Must be at least 16 years of age and enrolled in an educational program.
• Preferred availability for a paid internship in HR support functions.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining confidential information and records.
• Primarily supports the HR Generalists teams.
• Maintains files, records, and logs.
• Enters data into various Human Resources systems.
• Assists with recruiting, pre-employment/due diligence tasks and onboarding/offboarding.
• Conducts data audits/updates for Education, Driver's License, Safety Impact, Professional Engineer, Emergency Contact and other systems information.
• Assists in event preparation for New Employee Orientation, Recruiting, Wellness and district events.
• Gains exposure to HR-related issues.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
