Job summary
Adventureland Park in Altoona, IA seeks an HR Intern to support daily HR operations, assist with hiring, onboarding, and host-related admin tasks. The role includes data entry in HRIS, coordinating new hire orientations, and aiding with team member events.
The intern will work under HR leadership, gain exposure to employment laws, and develop leadership skills in a fast-paced theme park environment this summer.
Qualifications
- Intern candidates must be currently enrolled in a higher education program, majoring in Human Resources, Business Management, Industrial Engineering or related field of study
- Minimum of 1-year of related work experience in HR or Hospitality highly desired
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
Responsibilities
- Welcome team members and guests with a smile and positive attitude
- Assist with the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; duties include screening, interviews, onboarding, and new hire orientations
- Lead and complete special projects to improve HR processes
- Identify opportunities for program improvement and assist with HR enhancements
- Assist with Workday navigation and password resets
- Assist with coordination and execution of team member events
- Assist with timekeeping for assigned departments
- All other duties assigned by leadership
