Job summary

Wakefield Pork, Inc. is seeking a Human Resource Intern to support the HR department in policies, records management, surveys, and reporting. The role includes assisting with hiring procedures, scheduling interviews, and coordinating trainings and company events.

Interns will participate in leadership activities, attend company events, and may work on engagement initiatives across staff levels. Summer internship runs for 12 weeks, typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Be currently enrolled at a 2- or 4-year college or university.
• Efficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent internet research skills.
• High attention to detail, oral and written communication skills.
• Exemplary time management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supporting the HR department with policies and procedures.
• Update employee records and internal databases.
• Prepare and administer employee surveys, consolidating information, and presenting in reports.
• Assist HR in hiring and recruiting procedures and develop reports for openings.
• Monitor hiring trends and report analytics.
• Schedule meetings and interviews with candidates and employees.
• Assist HR in training and development.
• Coordinate events and trainings with various teams.
• Develop strategies for employee engagement across staff groups.
• Provide administrative support to Human Resources.
• Assist/attend organizing events and campaigns such as job fairs and community events.
