Job summary

Great Northern Corporation seeks an HR Generalist to support HR operations across multiple states and position for advancement to HR Manager within two years. You will handle recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, performance management, training and compliance while upholding our mission and values.

The role requires collaboration with plant leadership, HRIS/ATS proficiency, and strong knowledge of labor laws. On-site position in Wisconsin with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management preferred.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in HR, including managing multi-state compliance.
• Experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
• Proficiency in HRIS software and Applicant tracking systems.
• Strong knowledge of labor laws (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO).
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Experience working with plant leadership, hourly manufacturing employees, or managers across multiple locations preferred.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Able to travel periodically to other company locations, about 10% of the time.
• Competitive salary of 65000-85000 USD/year

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations for a multi-state organization.
• Recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, performance management, training and compliance.
• Maintain HRIS records and payroll-related tasks.
• Enforce policies and ensure state-specific employment law compliance.
• Support compensation review cycles and employee development planning.
• Maintain team handbooks and organize HR trainings.
