Job summary

Harbor Freight Tools seeks a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations and policy administration. The Generalist will work with the HR Manager and senior leaders to handle employee relations, compliance, records, and training administration.

The role includes advising staff on policies, monitoring leaves, supporting policy updates, and driving process improvements while contributing to overall workforce engagement and retention.

Qualifications

• Oversee employee relations and disciplinary matters as assigned.
• Advise employees on company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.

Responsibilities

• Oversee employee relations matters, including employee recognition programs, disciplinary matters, performance improvement plans, and exit interviews, as assigned by the site Human Resources Manager.
• Advise employees on company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws as well as company policies and procedures.
• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
• Maintain records for mandatory training, continuing education, tuition reimbursement, and disciplinary documentation.
• Monitor FMLA and other leaves of absence.
• Participate in the design, development and updating of policies and procedures.
• Assess and identify process or procedure opportunities and prepare recommendations for improvement.
