Position Summary
Sioux Valley Dakota Nation (SVDN) is seeking a motivated, experienced, and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support the organization's human resource functions and foster a positive work environment. The successful candidate will provide professional HR support in recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance with employment legislation and organizational policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit applicants to meet organizational staffing needs.
- Prepare and maintain job advertisements and recruitment postings.
- Track recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill and time-to-hire.
- Screen applications and coordinate interviews in a timely manner.
- Conduct entry-level interviews and complete reference checks.
- Prepare forms, correspondence, reports, and HR-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and HR filing systems.
- Assist management with employee performance review processes.
- Remain current on Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and HR best practices.
- Conduct workplace investigations related to grievances, discipline, and respectful workplace concerns, and provide recommendations.
- Coordinate employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, claims, and inquiries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- CHRP designation, or actively pursuing designation, is considered an asset.
- Experience in Human Resources administration, recruitment, employee relations, and records management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data management systems.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, clear Adult Abuse Registry Check, and clear Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, customs, values, and traditions.
- Commitment to the mission, policies, and Drug Testing Policy of Sioux Valley Dakota Nation.
