Job summary

GoochlandCares in Maidens, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to own day-to-day HR operations, recruit, develop, and leverage HR tech to improve the employee experience.

This on-site role partners with the CFO and contracted HR Director, focusing on onboarding, training, benefits administration, and policy compliance while upholding confidentiality and delivering meaningful impact in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in HR, business admin, or related field.
• PHR or SHRM-CP preferred or ability to obtain within two years.
• Three+ years of HR experience preferred with career progression.
• Experience with Paylocity and HR technology platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes (job postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, offers).
• Design and maintain training curricula and leadership development programs.
• Administer benefits programs, vendor relations, and open enrollment processes.
• Serve as primary HR contact for employees and managers; manage leave and confidential records.
