Job summary

GoochlandCares is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to own the organization’s day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, employee development, leadership training, process improvement, and HR technology. You will report to the CFO and contracted HR Director and play a key role in shaping our workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred or required.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred or achievable within two years.
• Three+ years of HR experience with demonstrated progression.
• Experience with Paylocity HRIS preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and Virginia employment laws.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment process: postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, offers.
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding through Paylocity and ensure documentation.
• Design and maintain employee development and leadership training programs.
• Support benefits administration and compliance activities.
• Serve as HR contact; administer leave programs and maintain records.
• Monitor HR compliance and report workforce metrics to leadership.
