Job summary

Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency is seeking an HR Generalist to support policy implementation, recruitment, compensation, benefits, leaves, records, and compliance monitoring. You will help maintain HRIS/payroll, handle confidential records, and assist with onboarding and orientation for staff.

The role emphasizes building morale, supporting program goals, and ensuring timely, compliant HR processes in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration or related field.
• Three years of experience as an HR Generalist serving staff in administrative personnel functions.
• SHRM/HRCI accreditation may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with updating and maintaining HRIS and payroll data.
• Respond to HR inquiries via email and support HR team with complex requests.
• Maintain confidential employee records with accuracy and security.
• Conduct HR investigations and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
• Create and review agency job descriptions for pay equity, EEO and inclusive language.
• Assist with pre-employment screening and onboarding processes.
• Oversee onboarding/offboarding to ensure IT and payroll access and timely final paychecks.
• Collaborate with recruiters and HR staff on orientation and benefits enrollment.
• Support leaves and disability processes and assist with HR projects and pay scale updates.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

HR accreditation with SHRM or HRCI may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge of employment laws and regulations

Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other online tools

Excellent oral and written communications

Ability to present information and meet deadlines
