Job summary

Houston Housing Authority is seeking an HR Generalist to support employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits, compliance, payroll support, and engagement. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources and helps ensure policies are applied consistently and in accordance with applicable laws.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of HR experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, organizational development, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
• Experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
• Administer compensation, benefits, and HR compliance programs.
• Process payroll changes and assist with payroll.
• Maintain HR records and government reporting data.
• Assist with training, recognition, and employee engagement activities.
• Prepare reports such as hiring status and turnover.
• Support audits and policy administration.
