Job summary

Probo Medical seeks an HR Generalist / Payroll Specialist in Milwaukee, WI to manage payroll, benefits administration, onboarding and employee relations. This role supports payroll processing, compliance and HR programs across the organization.

The candidate should have strong communication, organizational skills and integrity, with experience in payroll and HR administration. MS Office proficiency is required; Paylocity experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews payroll timecards for completeness and accuracy and resolves discrepancies with supervisors.
• Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state U.S. and Canada locations.
• Analyze, prepare, track, and input payroll data including garnishments, vacation, sick time, and 401(k) deductions.
• Maintain employee records and ensure changes are entered accurately and timely.
• Review unemployment claims and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Prepare year-end payroll requirements and state reporting.
• Handle employee relations issues and refer to management as needed.
• Provide payroll and benefits assistance to employees and process enrollments.
• Administer health, welfare, retirement benefits and leaves of absence.
• Assist with salary and benefits surveys.
