Job summary

The Town of Exeter is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to support essential people operations across multiple departments. This onsite role in Exeter, NH focuses on day-to-day HR administration, helping ensure accurate payroll processing, smooth onboarding, and well-maintained employee records.

Within the Town’s HR function, you will coordinate time entry, act as a key point of contact for onboarding and benefits, and assist with recruiting support.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Five or more years of HR experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication abilities and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel) and MUNIS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate time entry to support payroll.
• Serve as the primary contact for employee onboarding and benefit programs.
• Assist with recruitment activities.
• Update employee records and the HR website.
• Manage the MUNIS software program.
